Frequently Asked Questions
We know families want the simple details before committing.

Our camps serve a couple of age ranges. We also know how rare it is for a 14-year-old to be thrilled about working with an 8-year-old.
So here’s what we do: even when the age range is wide, we group students by similar age, skill level, and interests inside each camp.
When we pair a younger camper with a teen, it’s intentional, for specific reasons, such as:
making a performance moment special (young + older pairing)
challenging a teen to lead and coach in a focused way
helping a younger student grow faster with the right role model
Age groups by camp:
Ages 9–16: Young Band Nation™ (Recording Focus) and Young Band Nation™ (Performance Focus)
Ages 8–16: Musical Matinee Café: Songs from Stage & Screen
Ages 9–16: Guitar Chord Boot Camp (best for teens who want stronger chord fluency and confidence)
confidence)
-
Not always.
Some camps are beginner-friendly by design (like Guitar Chord Boot Camp or Musical Matinee Café). For Young Band Nation™, students do best when they already have a basic foundation on their instrument or vocals.
If you’re unsure, submit the Request Info form and we’ll guide you quickly.

Both are high-energy, band-based intensives. The difference is the finish line.
YBN Recording Focus: students form bands, write/arrange music, and track songs in a professional studio environment.
YBN Performance Focus: students build setlists, stage presence, and gear skills, ending with a live concert.
Choose the one that matches your student’s goals right now: studio progress or stage confidence.

A deposit reserves the spot. You can also choose pay-in-full at checkout.
Because group sizes are limited, we recommend placing a deposit as soon as you’re confident it’s the right camp.
-
Yes. Camps are intentionally capped to keep groups focused, safe, and high-quality.
When a camp week fills, enrollment closes.
-
Tuition covers instruction, coaching, rehearsals, and the full camp experience.
Some camps include additional features (like studio tracking or a performance). Any camp-specific details are listed in the camp description.
-
Bring:
your instrument (if applicable)
a water bottle
packed lunch
a great attitude
In-house bottled waters and snacks will be provided to keep minds sharp and energy up.
If a student needs help with gear logistics (amps, cables, etc.), we’ll send simple guidance before camp starts.
-
That’s incredibly common.
Our camps are designed to build confidence in a supportive, goal-driven environment. Students often leave camp feeling more capable and more connected than when they arrived.
-
Each camp ends with a meaningful finish line:
YBN Performance Focus: live concert
YBN Recording Focus: real studio tracking progress (students leave with meaningful progress on a recorded project)
Musical Matinee Café: relaxed matinee performance at 4:00 PM
Guitar Chord Boot Camp: measurable chord/rhythm improvement and clearer “next-step readiness” for band programs
-
If you anticipate conflicts, contact us as early as possible.
Because camps move fast and are group-based, consistent attendance creates the best experience. If something comes up, we’ll still help your student make the most of camp, but there are no partial payments or refunds for missed days.
-
Yes, as long as schedules don’t overlap and it’s a good fit.
Some students love pairing a skill-building camp with a performance-focused camp.
-
Because camps involve limited spots and significant pre-planning, deposits help us staff and build balanced groups.
In general:
Refunds: typically not available
Transfers: often possible if there’s an open spot in another camp/week
If you’re unsure before booking, submit the Request Info form and we’ll clarify your options before you place a deposit.
-
Use the Request Info form and tell us:
your child’s age
experience level
goals (stage, studio, guitar confidence, singing/storytelling)
We’ll guide you to the best fit quickly.
-
Camps are part of our bigger student pathway.
After camp, we can help your student move into the best next lane, such as:
private coaching
group programs
Young Band Nation™ pathways
We’ll base the recommendation on what your student loved most and where they grew fastest.
-
Because spots are limited and planning is intensive.
Deposits allow us to build balanced groups, staff appropriately, and deliver a better experience for every student. Once a camp week fills, enrollment closes, so a deposit is the fastest way to secure your spot.
